Site Redesign - Friends of Patapsco Valley State Park

The existing site struggled to communicate the organization’s mission and lacked a clear structure for showcasing ongoing projects and volunteer opportunities. I redesigned key pages to make it easier for visitors to explore trail work, join programs, and engage with the park community. The redesign introduced new parent pages for Projects, Programs, and Trail Networks, improving information architecture and storytelling. A mobile-first homepage update ensured users could find essential information quickly driving higher engagement from casual visitors and potential supporters.

Improved Navigation and Content Organization

Developed new high-level pages, including Projects, Programs, Trail Network, Trail Creations, and Supporting PVSP — transforming scattered content into intuitive, structured pathways. This helped visitors quickly understand the scale of volunteer work and provided clearer entry points for action: donating, attending events, and volunteering. The site now better reflects the organization’s impact and encourages repeat engagement.

Mobile-First Homepage and Engagement Enhancements

Redesigned the homepage layout with mobile behavior as the primary driver. Added new content modules that surface upcoming events, recent trail projects, and ways to get involved. Enhanced storytelling through imagery, calls to action, and improved visual hierarchy — helping users easily discover what’s happening in the park and how they can contribute.
